For a long time, there was but one man you called
when you needed someone to host your big, fancy awards show. That man
was Billy Crystal, a comedian and actor known less for being a comedian
or actor and more for being a solid backup host for when Ellen was busy.
But as Crystal enters his seventh decade, a replacement backup for this type of work becomes increasingly necessary. Against all odds, there's a chance that that replacement could be Gigi Hadid, a supermodel known less for being a supermodel and more for being Gigi Hadid.
After hosting the Daily Front Row's Fashion LA Awards last month, Hadid apparently did the job with such Crystallian competence (the show was not taped, so we really have no way of knowing) that she's now been tapped to host iHeartRadio's Much Music Video Awards.
Despite their seemingly dissimilar backgrounds, Crystal and Hadid actually have a lot in common. For instance, Gigi lives in New York, where Billy Crystal is originally from. See?!
