Enugu State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with a case of car snatching and armed robbery. During interrogation, the suspect identified as one Okwudili Nwodo revealed how he used to receive snatched and stolen vehicles from cohort and repaint them thereby making them ready to be sold to persons desirous of purchasing car.
According to the suspect who resides at No 39 Amaetiti Street Abakpa Enugu state with his spray painting/panel beating shop at presidential road Enugu, one Okoro Kingsley whom he said is from Enugu Ezike In Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu state had brought a black lexus jeep with a registration number ISD 625 DJX to him to re spray and incidentally the said jeep happens to be the one that was allegedly snatched on gun point on 20/5/16 at Ebenano Ekwe in Isu Local Government Area of Imo state from a victim later identified as one Amadi Kingsley on the said date and brought to Nwodo to re- spray.
Nwodo was spraying one of the suspected stolen Honda Accord car with registration number UWN 968 HU Metalic in colour when operatives of the Ogui Division of the Nigeria Police Enugu state Command swooped on him following intelligence information received recovering the said lexus jeep and the one he was spraying.
Following his arrest and the recovery of the two vehicles, suspect made useful revelation which aided the arrest of Okoro Kingsley and recovery of three other vehicles suspected stolen to be repainted also. The Two suspects are helping the operatives of the command in their investigations.
