Dogara Rings Closing Bell At NSE
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara has been scheduled to ring the closing bell of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday.
Mr Dogara would be accompanied by Members of the House Committee on capital market.
The Speaker has maintained a stance on laws that would compel multinationals to list on the NSE and has also pushed for stronger laws to punish market infractions.
He said that companies in the sectors must be listed on the capital market to deepen the market, make funds available for investors and create employment
A few weeks ago, Federal lawmakers, Members of the Stock Exchange and the Securities Commission held a two-day conference on deepening the market by creating quality and pro-active laws.
Financial markets across Nigeria reopened on Friday after a three-day public holiday declared by the Federal government to mark Eid-el-Fitri.
The Nigerian Stock Market resumed operations on Friday after the arrival of the Speaker to the NSE building.
