To mark the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan,
Executive Governor of Kano state, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, paid
the fine of 500 prisoners (worth 20 million) to secure their freedom. The
prisoners were jailed for committing minor crimes in several prisons
within Kano. According to Gov. Ganduje, this would also help to
