Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) yesterday reiterated its resolve to pursue the actualisation of Biafra to a logial conclusion.
It said it has not betrayed the Biafra agenda and struggle, as alleged by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) insisting that the struggle was the live of its members.
Reacting to the statement credited to IPOB’s spokesmen, Emma Nmezu and Clifford Iroanya, in which they were quoted as saying that MASSOB derailed and betrayed the Biafra struggle, the Movement urged the sister body to verify their information before going public.
In a statement signed by its National Director Of Information, Comrade Samuel Edeson, MASSOB said it was wrong to accuse it of an offence of a sacked former leader who had since formed another group.
The statement reads in part: “MASSOB under the leadership of our leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu expresses dissatisfaction and sadness over this allegation from our sister organization. We advice that statements should be thoroughly investigated before going to the public. Our image and name has been publicly blackmailed because of unguided statements.”
“MASSOB understand that IPOB while making their statements was referring to Ralph Uwazuruike’s betrayal and sabotage of Biafra while upholding Nnamdi Kanu’s integrity and selfless nature. Uwazuruike as a person is criminally corrupt and a saboteur but not MASSOB as an organization.
“Uwazuruike’s deviation from Biafra struggle is the primary reason MASSOB expelled and chase him out of MASSOB headquarters Okwe since 2014. MASSOB now under the leadership of Comrade Uchenna Madu continues in Biafra struggle untainted, unblemished and unstained highly energized with Biafra spirit of consistency & self determination.
“Uwazuruike after his expulsion from MASSOB formed another group called Biafra Independent Movement (BIM), we advice that IPOB should attach or associate BIM with Uwazuruike not MASSOB.
“We shall continue unrelentingly in pursuit of Biafra actualization and restoration through non violence and also shall continue to partner with other Biafran groups dedicated and committed for Biafra. MASSOB was the first group that reacted against the unapproved dialogue move by MEND on Nnamdi Kanu’s release.”
