FG spares N20bn on pay rates month to month

The Federal Government says it has been sparing in regards to N20 billion on pay rates month to month since it started to angle out apparition specialists.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr Mahmoud Isa-Dutse, said this while tending to newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja on the sideline of a workshop on cost administration.


The workshop was composed for Directors and top government employees of Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) by the Efficiency Unit of the Ministry of Finance.


Isa-Dutse said that the exceptional decrease in the cost of month to month wages was from N165 billion to N145 billion month to month.

He said this was finished with the help of the Presidential Committee on Audit of MDAs. He said the panel had the obligation of persistent evaluating of MDAs' compensations and wages.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Isa-Dutse had pronounced the workshop open for the benefit of the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun when she said the present organization was occupied with cutting expenses and giving worth for cash spent.

She said that the principle point of the workshop was to sharpen open authorities to cost and impart to them a few apparatuses to deal with the cost.

Leader of the Efficiency Unit, Mrs Patience Oniha, said that in the most recent one year that the unit was built up, it had spared the administration about N15 billion.

The Head of the Efficiency Unit included that more supports would be spared by deliberately taking out misuse of government assets.
