France's top ambassador on Wednesday hammered the bullish tone taken by President-elect Donald Trump with key exchange partner Beijing in debilitating to overturn Washington's One China arrangement.
"Keep an eye out for China… It's a major nation. You can have conflicts with China however you don't talk like that to an accomplice," commented French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault on France 2 TV.
He was reacting to clearly without any preparation comments by Trump in a meeting with Fox News Sunday in which he doubted whether Washington ought to proceed with its "One China strategy" unless Beijing makes concessions on exchange and different issues.
