No arrangement to boycott Super Falcons players, mentors over faceoff, says NFF

Clutch trophy dissent proceeds in Abuja 

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said yesterday it had no arrangement to boycott a few players and mentors of the Super Falcons for their part in the on-going faceoff over unpaid qualifications. 

The Falcons, who crushed the host, Lionesses of Cameroun to win their eighth Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) title on December 3 in Yaoundé, had been on strike in Abuja over the disappointment of the NFF to settle their wages. 

There were reports that no under 10 of the players and a few authorities would be banned for life for 'scorning their mother country before the universal media.' 

In particular, USA-based striker, Francisca Ordega, was said, as one of the players that could to be hacked out over asserted remark that she lamented playing for the nation. Ordega has since separated herself from that remark. 

President of the NFF, Amaju Pinnick, Secretary General Dr. Mohammed Sanusi and in addition Spokesman of the body, Ademola Olajire told The Guardian in partitioned interviews that there was no particle of truth in such story. 

"By what means can individuals concoct such a story?" Pinnick inquired. There is nothing of such. They are our players and we will keep on appealing to them to see prevail upon the NFF in perspective of the tight monetary circumstance we are right now. Their wages will be given to them when we get cash. To state that the NFF is wanting to boycott a portion of the players and mentors forever is out of it." 

On his part, the Secretary General said in a message to The Guardian yesterday: "To the best of my insight, no one has said a wonder such as this." 

Olajire additionally said: "Never. No one ever said that. Such story originated from individuals who can't inhale without composing something negative about the NFF. It is not useful and won't occur." 

In the interim, the players are as yet holding unto the African Nations Cup trophy at the Agura Hotel in Abuja. 

A portion of the players who talked with The Guardian yesterday promised never to empty the inn until they are settled. 

One of them said: "The NFF paid N100,000 into our ledgers on Friday and argued that we ought to go. No chance. We need our cash in full."
