Indian Air Force Plane Disappears Mid Air
Indian Air Force Plane Disappears Mid Air- A search has been launched for an Indian Air Force plane which has disappeared mid-air with 29 personnel online.
The AN-32 aircraft had taken off the southern city of Chennai in the morning and was heading for Port Blair in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, according to Air Force spokesman Wing Commander, Anupam Banerjee.
“The aircraft with 29 service personnel had taken off around 8:30 am (0300 GMT) and was to have landed by noon. It is overdue, and a search has been launched,” he said. The air force, Navy and Coast Guard are all searching for the plane of the Bay of Bengal.
“It was found missing. As of now, we will term it as overdue,” said Navy spokesperson DK Sharma. “These aircraft are very strong, they are used as supply planes for mountains and deserts,” said retired Air Force officer Praful Bakshi.
The AN-32 are made in Russia, and can fly for for up to four hours without refueling and operate in all weather conditions.
