Two Doctors Taiwo Shogunle, Adeleke Olusegun of St. Raphael Divine Mercy Specialist Hospital at Ijede, Ikorodu Docked
Two medical doctors, Taiwo Shogunle 53 and Adeleke Olusegun 43 of St. Raphael Divine Mercy Specialist Hospital at Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos State are to remain in police cell until they are able to fulfill their bail condition of N500, 000 each with two sureties in the like sum.
Their crime was that they forgot towel inside a patient, Omojola Bamgboye and allegedly caused his untimely death after performing surgery on him.
The doctors were arraigned before Igbosere Magistrate court on a one count charge of felony, to wit, murder.
The charge according to the Police Prosecutor Supol Eshiet Eshiet the offences bordering on unlawful killing of their patient during surgery in which they forgot towel in his abdomen.
He told the court in charge No L/28/2016 that the accused persons committed the offence between 18 and 19 December, 2015 at St. Raphael Divine Mercy Specialist Hospital, Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos.
Meanwhile, the accused persons denied the allegations.
The Case has been adjourned till September 9, 2016.
